                                         Dhyana Mudra

                   Dhyana Mudra is Gesture of Meditation. Dhyana is Sanskrit word and it means Meditation. Dhyana Mudra improve the ability to concentrate. If you are Meditation practitioner then you must have seen lots of Buddha statue in Dhayan Mudra. In Buddhism, the tips of thumb touched in this mudra. That forms the shape of a triangle which represents the three jewels of Buddhism - Buddha, Sangha (community) and Dharma (teachings). This Meditation mudras used for heal better the body and mind.

How to perform Dhyana mudra step by step?

  1. After seating in yoga posture or pose for meditation, place your left hand slightly below navel or bellybutton on the lap, with palm facing upward and fingers straight.
  2. Now place the right hand above the left hand, with palm facing upward and fingers straight.
  3. Then touch the tips of thumbs gently by little - bit folding fingers of both hand thus forming a mystic triangle with thumbs.
  4. Now closed your eyes, take couple of deep breath and start Meditation. 
Note -
  • The left hand palm must touch the back of finger of right hand.
  • The tips of thumbs must touch gently not forcefully otherwise you will hurt yourself and instead of meditation - inner peace, you’ll fill disturbance and pain.

                                         Gyan Mudra

                Gyan Mudra is also know as "Chin Mudra". Chin is the Sanskrit word and it means "consciousness". Mudra means Gesture of Hands. Gyan Mudra is Gesture of knowledge. This Meditation mudras used for heal better the body and mind.

How to perform Gyan mudra step by step?

  1. After seating in yoga posture or pose for meditation, join the tip of your thumbs and index fingers to form a perfect circle with thumb and finger.
  2. Keep other three fingers straight.
  3. Hold this mudra and place the hands on your knee with palm facing upward.
  4. Now closed your eyes, take couple of deep breath and start Meditation.
Note –
  • In Thunderbolt pose or Vajrasana, hold this mudra and place the hands on your thighs with palm facing down.
  • The tips of thumbs must touch gently not forcefully otherwise you will hurt yourself and instead of meditation - inner peace, you’ll fill disturbance and pain.

                                         Vayu Mudra

  1. After seating in yoga posture or pose for meditation, touch the tip of your index fingers at the base of thumbs and thumb on its first phalanges joint……(as shown in pic.)
  2. Gently press first phalanges joint with that of thumb.
  3. Keep other three fingers straight.
  4. Hold this mudra and place the hands on your knee with palm facing upward. 
  5. Now closed your eyes, take couple of deep breath and start Meditation.

Namaste Mudra is also know as 'Namaskar mudra'. Namaste is a form of greeting used in Asian countries, mainly India, Thailand and Nepal. Namaste is usually spoken with a slight bow. Press the hands together, palms touching and fingers pointing upwards. Thumbs close to the chest. Namaste can be spoken without the bow.
