Siddhasana

                     Siddhasana is also known as 'Accomplished Pose'. Siddhasana is a seated and kneeling pose. Usually this yoga pose used to practice for Meditation. Siddhasana purifies all the 72,000 nadis or energy channels in the body, through breathing exercise. This Yoga Meditation Pose second best sitting asana after Lotus Pose or Padmasana.

                     Pronunciation - sid-dha-sa-na
                     Meaning - Siddha is the sanskrit word. It means 'Accomplished'. And asana means 'Pose'.
                     Difficulty - 1 (out of 5)

How to do Siddhasana?

Steps -
  1. Sit on the floor or on Yoga Mat with leg straight.
  2. Slowly fold the left leg from knee and place the left foot between the anus and testis (perineum) for male.
    For females, place the left foot close to labia majora of vagina.
  3. Now take the right foot by folding right leg from knee and place it over the left foot.
  4. To make Siddhasana Yoga pose steadier, slide the right foot toes in left legs calf and inner thigh.
  5. Take any mudra (hand gesture) and rest your wrist on the knee. I prefer Dhyaan Mudra & Gyan Mudra.
Note -
  • You can lock your right foot toes in left legs between inner thigh and calf.
  • You have to touch your left heels to Perineum or Labia Majora of vagina.
  • Your spine or backbone must be straight or erect.
  • For Yoga and Meditation wear something comfortable clothes. Too tight cloths will distract you.
  • Do not practice Yoga on hard surface, it will hurt your skeleton and internal organs too.
         So you must do Yoga on Yoga Mat.
